The Stanley Cup Playoffs on TVA Sports: 
The Most-Watched Finals Since 2008


Montreal, June 13, 2017TVA Sports has set a new record by garnering the highest Stanley Cup Finals ratings since 2008. Up to 1,222,000 viewers witnessed the Pittsburgh Penguins’ second consecutive Stanley Cup victory Sunday night on TVA Sports, which reached an average of over 962,000 fans (36.6% market share1). These ratings established TVA Sports as the most-watched TV station in Quebec on Sunday evening.

The #1 Sports Station
Since January, TVA Sports has achieved undeniable ratings success. With a market share of 3.4%,2 TVA Sports is by far the most watched sports channel in Quebec this spring. Throughout the playoffs, TVA Sports reached a market share of 6.5% – four times higher than the competing sports channel3. Hockey fans have turned to us to follow their favourite players throughout the season. From the very start of the playoffs, TVA Sports drew up to 2 million viewers for Montreal Canadiens games.

Next up: TVA Sports invites hockey fans to catch the NHL expansion draft June 21 at 8 p.m., as well as the NHL Awards ceremony. This will be followed by the full NHL draft June 23 at 6 p.m., and the opening of the free-agent market July 1 at 11:30 a.m.
