ELLE Canada Announces New Editor-in-Chief

Montreal, November 16, 2016 — ELLE Canada, the nation’s favourite source for the latest in fashion, beauty and culture with nearly 1.5 million readers* across all platforms, today has its own news to break: Vanessa Craft is the magazine’s new Editor-in-Chief. A highly respected multiplatform journalist with more than 16 years of experience, Craft joined ELLE Canada as Beauty Director in 2011, garnering six industry awards for the magazine and, since September 2015 alone, leading a team that increased traffic to the brand’s digital beauty content by 70%.

“I’m honoured to lead the country’s most iconic fashion brand,” said Craft. “Now, more than ever, women want to connect with an inclusive, intelligent resource and ELLE Canada is the ultimate guide to an inspired and powerful life.”

Under Craft’s direction, ELLE Canada beauty content has been syndicated in more than a dozen countries worldwide, including USA, China and Russia. Prior to joining ELLE Canada, Craft served as Beauty Editor for More magazine (Canadian edition), as well as Editorial Director for, the sports-focussed women’s website she also founded, growing traffic on the independent site to 4 million page views per month.

Craft has long been a key face of ELLE Canada, representing the brand on television’s ET Canada, The Social, the Marilyn Denis Show and many others, as well as hosting VIP events and attending key industry events. She was the first Beauty Editor ever to receive the P&G Beauty Awards’ Best Beauty Editor honour two years in a row.

“I can’t think of a more qualified candidate than Vanessa. She has spent her career building the respect and admiration of audiences in print, online and on social media. As well, Vanessa has mastered the rare ability to build and maintain strong relationships with industry brands. We are thrilled to have her in the Editor-in-Chief’s chair,” said Lucie Dumas, Vice President, Group Publisher, TVA Publications, adding that Craft will report directly to Sandra E. Martin, Group Publisher, English magazines at TVA Publications.
