TVA Sports unveils its schedule for the
2015-2016 National Hockey League season

  • More than 260 hockey games
  • Season opener on October 7: Montreal Canadiens vs Toronto Maple Leafs
  • All Stanley Cup playoff games and NHL special events in exclusivity

MONTREAL, June 25, 2015 – Attention hockey fans: TVA Sports is already working on the next National Hockey League season, the second of a contract with the League that will continue until 2026. Again this year, TVA Sports is proud to hold a special place for our national sport by broadcasting more than 260 games, including all Saturday night Montreal Canadiens games, their first game of the season, and the January 1 Winter Classic against the Boston Bruins. Again next season, TVA Sports will present every Stanley Cup playoff game plus NHL special events in exclusivity.

The return of La Super soirée LNH and Grandes Rivalités
Our entire team of experts from La Super soirée LNH will be back in force on Wednesday, October 7, as TVA Sports presents the opening game between the Montreal Canadiens and their legendary rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs. TVA Sports will still be the destination every Saturday evening for Canadiens games, including the first on Saturday, Oct. 10, against the Boston Bruins. The Montreal Canadiens obviously occupy important ice time on TVA Sports, as the channel will present 22 regular season games on La Super soirée LNH.

Wednesday nights are reserved for Grandes Rivalités as the best NHL teams face off on TVA Sports. The Philadelphia Flyers will open the show as they face the Boston Bruins on October 21, followed on October 28 by a clash between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Washington Capitals. Throughout the season, fans will get ringside seats to the best NHL duels.

Every team on TVA Sports
Again this year, TVA Sports will have the opportunity to present games featuring all 30 NHL teams. Fans will get to see 34 Boston Bruins games, as well as more than 20 Tampa Bay Lightning, Toronto Maple Leafs, Pittsburgh Penguins, Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings games. Hockey fans will also be happy to see Stanley Cup winners, the Chicago Blackhawks, in action 13 times.

All major events in exclusivity
TVA Sports will be the only Francophone broadcaster for NHL playoff games and the Stanley Cup final. The channel will also feature exclusive coverage of all NHL special events, including the January 1 Winter Classic, which will revive the historic rivalry between the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Bruins (at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough), the All-Star Game (in Nashville on January 30 and 31) and two outdoor games of the Stadium Series featuring the Minnesota Wild and Chicago Blackhawks on February 21, 2016, and the Colorado Avalanche against the Detroit Red Wings on February 27, 2016.
